about me

hello world.

I am an independent lawyer and a legal researcher, trying to make sense of our scrambled networked society.

I was a Mozilla Technology Policy Fellow for 2019/20 during which I created the AI Observatory, interrogating government use of Automated Decision Making in India.

I am leading research on a project assessing global algorithmic accountability policy, with the AI Now Institute, the Ada Lovelace Institute and the Open Government Partnership. I edit and contribute to the SpicyIP Blog. I am a Visiting Fellow at the NCBS Archives, examining archives, access and law, and I am also co-investigating a project on information regulation in India, with the Centre for Law an Policy Research.
